SMS Changing Lives has the highest expectations and aspirations for all our students. We firmly believe that all young people should be given equal opportunities to achieve the best possible outcomes in life, irrespective of their socio-economic background.
The aim of the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) is to support schools in raising the attainment levels of the most disadvantaged pupils and to ‘close’ or ‘narrow’ the gap that exists. As we are an Independent school, only our pupils whose places are funded by their Local Authority are entitled to Pupil Premium or PPP. All of our pupils have struggled in mainstream education and as such all of our focus is on helping these disadvantaged children raise their attainment levels; however not all of our students are eligible for PPP. As such, each academic year we will decide on interventions that will be appropriate for those pupils in receipt of the PPP.
Furthermore each year we will ringfence a small percentage of that income to be allocated towards staff training and development.
