SMS offers full and part-time Alternative Provision to key stage 3 and 4 students at our SMS Central site in Old Trafford. Students accessing SMS on an AP basis have access to the same curriculum offers as our school roll students.
Host school retain overall responsibility for safeguarding, attendance, and attainment. We encourage schools to visit their students on a regular basis and are happy to provide support with multi-agency meetings, IEPs and EHCP referrals in addition to providing termly reports. AP students can sit exams with us, or at their host schools.
Costings for AP start at £159 per day. All activities and meals are included in the price.

SMS Central is our head office and AP base.
Students at Central enjoy small class sizes and specialist SEMH staff.
Specialist staff deliver core subjects in the morning, from Entry 1 right up to GSCEs with a wide range of vocational offers available in the afternoon. All subjects lead to nationally recognised qualifications.
The Ayres Road site benefits from a 3G football pitch, music recording studio, purpose-built salon, large student kitchen, and state of the art gym and boxing ring. We also facilitate offsite construction and have our own full time forest schools teacher.
SMS central is dedicated to meeting the holistic needs of our students. As such we have a sensory room and multi-faith prayer room on site as well as a dedicated wellbeing team, including a school councillor, three specialist pastoral officers and an Art therapist.
For more specific support needs, all students at SMS can be referred the SMS bMindful therapeutic team of highly qualified psychologist and specialist therapists.
